| Adult Ministry
Trinity
offers several opportunities for adults to minister and serve. You may click
on an item at the right to find out more about that ministry or feel free to read
about all of them below. Contact the Church Office if you are interested
in becoming involved in any of these ministries.
In
service to our Lord, the Altar Guild exists as an assistant to the Pastor, by
managing the care of the altar to insure that it is clean and ready for all worship
services. This includes caring for
and placing proper paraments, linens, communion vessels, etc.
The duties of the Guild are varied and vital to the smooth progression
of our worship. The
Guild is open to all ladies of the congregation. Conducted
periodically, blood drives afford members the opportunity to insure valued blood
replacement coverage under a variety of plans.
There will be notices in the bulletins as well as the newsletter.
While
Trinity encourages each and every worshiper to "be a greeter every Sunday,"
designated Greeters are on hand before and after both services each Sunday morning
to offer a warm "welcome" to all members and visitors/guests.
They also assist the Pastor in extending to visitors/guests information
on the church and introducing them to other members. Serving
as a Greeter is an excellent way to get to know fellow members of Trinity and
to help those who are visiting with us feel comfortable.
The ministry is open to all confirmed members of the congregation. Layreaders
are men and women who read the Scripture Lessons for the day in our weekly and
special services. The
purpose of the LWML
is to help women of the church grow spiritually -- MISSION INSPIRATION; to
encourage and equip women to reach out in love -- MISSION EDUCATION; and to
alert members to opportunities for helping others -- MISSION SERVICE. The
League also encourages women to seek out and serve the needs of people in their
community -- and the world. Mission programs are funded through offerings gathered in mite
boxes and other voluntary means. Trinity's
LWML is open to all women of the congregation. Trinity's
LWML is affiliated with the International LWML and the Florida-Georgia District. Nursery
Care is provided during the Sunday School hour and the Worship Services each week
in the nursery. Parents are encouraged
to bring children, age three and over, to worship services with them. OWLS
is a group of seniors 55 years of age and older who meet regularly for fun and
fellowship. Activities include bus
tours to areas of interest. Other
activities include potluck lunches, meetings, and games.
Members and non-members are invited to become a part of OWLS.
Pastoral
care is a vital part of being a community of God's people together.
Our goal is to establish a network that will create an approach to caregiving
that extends to everyone within our church.
Each person in the congregation should feel welcome, know they belong,
and feel effectively cared for. Stephens
Ministers are trained to assist members with their many spiritual, emotional and
physical needs. If you are interested
in receiving training to become a Stephens Minister please contact the Church
Office. Trinity
Prayer Group meets from 9:00 – 9:30 AM on Wednesday.
We pray silent and spoken prayers for specific needs of the church.
Please join us if you would like to enlarge, enrich and encourage our Trinity
family. You may contact Mary Campbell
at 713-466-8402 if you have any questions about this ministry. Everyone
is invited to share some time in fellowship after the 8:00 AM service each week
for coffee and fellowship. Please
contact the Church Office if you are interested in serving in this manner. The
men and women who serve as Ushers assist the Pastor in assuring that each and
every worship service runs smoothly. They
are available to assist members and visitors in any way possible to insure a worship
experience that is God-pleasing and enriching.
Any confirmed member of the congregation may serve as an Usher and is invited
and encouraged to do so.
IDignity
IDignity is an opportunity to share a few hours of your life once with the purpose
of lifting a crushed spirit or giving hope where little exists. You will receive
a reward of thankful gratitude and trust. But, serving two events, or 8-12
hours of your lifetime, you will be remembered as the one who was “so
good to me last time.” Serve three events and you become a veteran sharing
stories with the “newbies.” Your fourth event changes your whole
perspective on serving. You will wonder why this opportunity that offers so
much assistance, provides such hope, and builds self-confidence is only offered
once a month. Serving with IDignity is addictive. Visit www.idignity.org for
more information. If you are interested in additional information or
would like to volunteer or make a designated contribution, please contact Deaconess
Liz or IDignity.
