The
Manger
The
Christmas story is made for telling. There is a rich
cast of characters, an exotic setting, travel, suspense,
cute animals, and a touch of the supernatural. Christian
or not, people have always been drawn to the Christmas
story.
Let
me put that another way. People have always been drawn
to this story whether or not they know or love Christ.
That’s a “good news, bad news” truth. (Read

For
many years, Trinity carried on a Christmas tradition of staging
a musical production on the Disney Amphitheater stage in Lake
Eola Park. This year, on Friday, December 5, at 7:30pm, we're
returning with a huge, musical cast that features everything
from our own New Dimensions Jazz Quintet to a huge steel drum
band, and a dramatic Christian dance troupe.
Hosted
by WESH-TV News Anchor Jim Payne, the show will also feature
the combined Trinity School Choirs, The Way Trinity ensemble
and a special reading of the story of Christ's birth by Pastor
Jeff Moore. President-CEO of Walt Disney World, Meg Crofton,
will appear to thank Trinity for its gift, and Mayor Buddy
Dyer has been invited as well as City Council members and
other area dignitaries. (Read

SHARES CHRISTMAS…
 |
This
ministry will serve approximately 20 families.
Information about the families and their needs
will be available on a Trinity Shares Christmas
tree. Look for the tree in the narthex. We encourage
you to take an ornament from the tree to purchase
clothing and food.
|
If
you would like to designate an offering toward the purchase
of clothing or food items, please place it in an offering
envelope and designate “Trinity Shares Christmas”.
“And I am praying you will put into action the generosity
that comes from your faith as you understand and experience
all the good things we have in Christ.” (Philemon 6)

The
Front Lines of Freedom
The e-LWML
has “adopted” a U.S. Army MASH unit in Afghanistan.
The items they have requested are: AA and AAA batteries, body
wash in plastic bottles,
plastic spoons, hard candies, AT&T Calling cards, and personal notes of encouragement.
You may certainly contribute cash too however, the “receipt” will
be an article in the Triune at the end of collecting that shows how much money
was collected and what items were purchased with that money. A local business
that LOVES our service men and women is donating the shipping costs which frees
up more funds for taking care of our troops’ needs. Let’s show Christ’s
love for these folks! Please don’t forget these brave men and women who
are serving at the front lines of FREEDOM!
MOMS
IN TOUCH
Are you a mom who desperately loves her children and longs for
them to grow up to be loving, confident and successful? Do you
fear that influences outside your control will steal their hearts?
You are not alone … and you are invited to the Moms in
Touch group that prays for the children of Trinity. Please join
us every Thursday in the Sanctuary at 8:30 a.m. Moms In Touch
International believes that children and schools worldwide can
be impacted
for Christ by gathering mothers to pray. Prayer is the most powerful
tool we can use to defend our children from the temptations they
face every day. If you have any questions please call Karen Killinger
at 407-656-4202.

DOWNTOWN INSTALLS CHRISTMAS STAR
Trinity Lutheran
Church, founded downtown in 1919, begins the celebration of its 90th anniversary,
with the installation of the Christmas Star, a huge, 3-dimensional star atop
its historic bell tower.
To celebrate Advent, the church’s season of anticipation of the birth of
Jesus Christ on Christmas, Trinity Downtown will hoist the 11-foot, 1,000-light
star with a crane at approximately 4:30 p.m. The star will punctuate the night
sky just one block east of the Orange County Courthouse. Travelers can see it
from as far away as Interstate 4.
The Star symbolizes the trek of the Wise Men across the deserts of Mesopotamia
to celebrate the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.
Members of Trinity’s congregation and school families will gather on the
front lawn for the official lighting of the star that will take place just after
sundown.
Raising of the Star, Candy Card Stapling, and Cookout Dinner starting Tuesday
December 2 at 4:30 pm on the front lawn, come and join in the fun and
fellowship.
Service
of the Longest Night
Friday, December 19 at 7:00 p.m.
in the church sanctuary.
Once
again, Trinity will sponsor a special "Service of the
Longest Night" for those who do not find the festive holiday
season particularly joyful. If you have experienced loss this
year, whether the death of a loved one, the loss of a job,
financial insecurity, severed relationships, any situation
that causes you grief, you are invited to participate in this
special holiday service. The Service of the Longest Night derives
its name from the fact that the period December 20 through
December 23 there is a day when the sun reaches the southern
most part of its ecliptic journey; it is the shortest day and
the longest night in the Northern Hemisphere. We caring Christian
sisters and brothers here at Trinity recognize there are people
in our midst who are familiar with long nights, sleepless nights
that begrudgingly tick by so slowly that they think the night
will never
end.(Read

When

jars and boxes marked "33%

more than before, or
33% more for free? Getting
something for free is
very difficult for even "buy

conditional on a purchase.
