Confirmation
Retreat 2006-2007 – The Lord’s
Prayer
Dear Parents of Confirmands,
The confirmation
retreat is coming quickly! The retreat is scheduled for Friday,
March 23 through Sunday, March
25, at the St. John
Lutheran Retreat Center near Leesburg. This retreat will be
only for 2nd year confirmation students from Trinity. The retreat
will cover all classes on the Lord’s Prayer so it is
a required retreat.
Enclosed
is an emergency health form (2-sided) and a “what
to bring” list with additional details about the retreat.
Please return the emergency health form and the $ 70 retreat
fee to Pastor Moore or the church office by Sunday, March 11.
Please note that the health form is no longer required to be
notarized. The $70 cost will cover meals, snacks, lodging, supplies,
chaperone cost, and transportation. If the retreat fee is difficult
for you, please contact Pastor Moore. There are scholarship funds
available for those who need it.
We will return from the retreat in time for the 11:00 service
on Sunday. The confirmation students will sit together for worship
and have a special part in the service.
We have
three intrepid chaperones for the retreat, Ted Lange, Randy
Zook, and Marietta Hinton, plus our DCE Intern,
Dan Davies,
will be leading much of the activity, while I will be teaching
the main content. The chaperones’ main duties will be
supervising nights in the bunkhouses and being small group
discussion leaders.
(Questions and answers are given to the leaders.) It is a fun
and rewarding opportunity! Chaperones do not pay the fee, of
course! Ted has volunteered to handle food.
Joy and peace in Christ,
Pastor Moore
