FACTS:
Trinity Lutheran School has served the church and community in downtown Orlando
since 1953. It is accredited through National Lutheran School Accreditation
of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. Trinity prepares students in
Pre-K (for those who are 4 years old by September 1) through eighth grade to
be successful in high school and beyond. The Trinity Child Development Center
serves children 6 weeks old through four years old.
Trinity Lutheran School
maintains the following class-size limits: Pre-K and kindergarten – 20
students; Grades 1-4, 24 students; Grades 5-8, 26 students.
All students wear school
uniforms from a private vendor.
Trinity’s lunch
program is operated by a private vendor.
Before and after school
care (7:30-8:15 a.m. and dismissal – 5:30 p.m.), are available
as well as many athletic and musical opportunities to provide students
with a well-rounded educational experience.
Trinity Lutheran School
admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin. Students
are taught to appreciate one another as God’s children and celebrate
their differences.
Our curriculum is designed
to help students develop morally according to well-established biblical
principles.
CURRICULUM:
Our school has a strong Christ-centered program that emphasizes the basic skills
in all the traditional subject areas. Religion is taught daily in each
classroom and our faith in Christ is integrated throughout the curriculum.
Trinity meets or exceeds Florida’s Sunshine State standards.
CHURCH AFFILIATION:
Trinity Lutheran School is owned and operated by Trinity Lutheran Church- LCMS.
While students of all Christian faiths are accepted, all Trinity students
are required to participate in all classes including religion classes.
Students and their families are encouraged to be actively involved in their
church. Families without a church home are invited and encouraged to attend
Trinity for worship. Services are held each Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and on
Sunday morning at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 am.
UNIFORMS:
All students are required to wear Trinity uniforms. Our school uniform company
is a private vendor. More information about this company will be provided
at a later date. Trinity also has used uniforms for sale at reduced prices.
FIELD TRIPS:
Teachers coordinate trips to museums, zoos, theaters, etc. to tie into material
that they are teaching in class. Some of these trips involve service to
the community. The sixth, seventh, and eighth grades all take overnight
trips during the month of May. The cost of these educational excursions
is paid by the students.
EXTENDED DAY
For parents who work and need childcare for their children extended care is
available. Before school care is open from 7:30 am - 8:15 am. After school
care operates from dismissal until 5:30 pm. Full day care is offered on most
none school days. Fees for the 2007-2008 school year are posted on the tuition
and fee schedule sheet included in this packet. Trinity also offers a full
day Summer Extended Care program for children ages 5-11.

ATHLETICS
Physical education classes are part of the curriculum for all grades. We have
an excellent gymnasium facility. Students in grades 5-8 have an opportunity
to get involved in extra-curricular sports. Students may participate in
volleyball, soccer, basketball, track, golf, and/or cheerleading programs.
Students are required to have a current sports physical. There is a participation
fee for each sport. These fees are listed below.
MUSIC
A wide variety of music opportunities are open to students beyond curriculum
music classes. All lower grade classes are involved in choir. Older students
may choose to participate in choir, band for grades 4-8, or hand bell choirs
for grades 4-8.
CHURCH
AFFILIATION
Trinity Lutheran School is part of Trinity Lutheran Church-LCMS. Students do
not have to be Lutheran to attend Trinity Lutheran School but are expected
to fully participate in all classes. Religion materials used are rooted in
the Lutheran theology and are Bible based. You are encouraged to be actively
involved with your family in your own church home. If you do not have a church
home, or if you are currently looking for one, Trinity Lutheran Church invites
you to join us for worship. The weekend worship schedule includes 4 services:
Saturday at 6:00 p.m., Sunday at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11:00 a.m.

Trinity Child Development
Center is based on the knowledge that God has created each child and loves him
or her dearly. He has given each child a distinct personality, an infinite curiosity,
and a great capacity to love. Our program is designed to provide a safe and nurturing
environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development
of each child to his or her fullest potential. Our goal is to provide learning
about the world God has given to us in a manner that reflects the great love
He shares with us.
Curriculum and learning
activities are designed to be age and individually appropriate.
Trinity Child Development
Center meets all the requirements of the Florida Department of Children
and Families, the Health Department, and the Orlando Fire Department.
We are accredited by the National Lutheran School Accreditation and the
Florida-Georgia District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
